Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Inspect equipment periodically to identify problems and determine necessary maintenance.
- Prepare and manage weekly maintenance schedules, including work allocation.
- Inspect and maintain building systems (e.g., heating, ventilation, etc.).
- Participate in the coordination of maintenance and facility-related projects.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, and train maintenance technicians and tradesmen (e.g., electricians, mechanics).
- Supervise and provide ongoing training and development for technicians.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in the development of the entire maintenance team.
- Promote and facilitate a positive culture change within the team.
Budgeting, Inventory & Resource Management:
- Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
- Monitor inventory levels of materials and equipment to ensure availability and efficiency.
Compliance, Quality & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and all health and safety regulations.
Requirements and Skills:
Experience & Education:
- 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience (industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
- At least 1–3 years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience
- Technical associate’s degree preferred.
Technical Knowledge & Expertise:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations.
- Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing best practices.
Core Competencies:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Systems & Tools:
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) strongly preferred.

Certifications:
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMRP) is a plus.
